M.E.'s notebook:
At the door, we were greeted by a stout man, with a red and bulbous nose, horn-rimmed spectacles and a professional smile. He was Doctor J. L. Multooler, one of the Assistant Medical Examiners.
"We didn't move her until you came, Commissioner," he explained, shaking hands. "I think you're going to find it a peach of a case!"
"What is her name?"
"She was known here as Mrs. Samuel Smith. Probably a fake!"
Anthony Abbot, writing in About the Perfect Crime of Mr. Digberry, 1940.
